Christina and I spent my 21st birthday together over Memorial Day weekend in 2003. I will never forget this zany adventure...we were two young, fit, happy and energetic soldiers who played as hard as we trained/worked.
Our plan was to camp by a lakeside not far from the salt river outside of Phoenix for the 4 day weekend. We drove up Thursday night after work and got to our campsite in the dark...we underestimated our travel time, got turned around a time or two, and rolled into our rustic 4 wheel drive access only campsite in the pitch dark!
We spent our first night setting up in the light of my friend Terry´s jeep. In the morning we woke to one of the most gorgeous views I´ve ever seen...a rustic dessert campsite by a deeply blue lake.
The next day we loaded up a big ol´cooler and planned to float down the salt River all day long. On the bus to the drop in spot we met a group of sexy young marines. They were a lot of fun and enjoyed the flirty nature of our playful River day conversations. They invited the three of us to join them...so we did.
Over the next 4 days we swam, cooked out, camped, partied, hiked, and more. It was an emotional roller coaster of joy and youthful abandon.
Christina was a dear friend to me, I would even say family, we lost touch after the army...but I know for a fact we wouldn´t have missed a beat if our paths had crossed again. I am saddened by this loss and wish to send her family my deepest condolences. I will always remember Christina and will keep those memories close to my heart. If only I had some pictures to add to this memory.

Boxing, I was blessed to meet Christina in the army back in 2002. We trained together and became dear friends. I love her and will always remember the joy, determination, and general zest for life that she brought to everything she did.

We had a wonderful time in Tombstone back in June. Ariza´s little face and smile would make everyone around her smile. So thankful we got to spend time with both Ariza and Christina at the dojo! They will forever be missed.

She could swim like a mermaid she really enjoyed playing mermaids with the kids and always had this loud laugh but oh she was so sweet and amazing to our children. I could still hear her say "pikachuuuu!" And run around with my kids inside the apartment to outside haha They miss her dearly. We all do. We keep expecting her to come by and knock on our door to play, have fun, and sneak a soda haha she really loved our cooking. She wanted to learn how to make frybread so bad. We love and miss you Ariza. Please rest peacefully and know you´ll always be in our hearts you beautiful girl.

Oh Louri - my heart aches for you and Bob. I know how very hard you tried. I know every tear you cried. I love you my dear friend, over 50 years of friendship. You will always be the kindest most generous soul I have ever met. I love you. I lift you in prayer. ~ M

My daughter and Ariza were in karate and weapons together and Ariza liked my daughter´s hair and shaved the underside of her hair to match my daughters. We will miss them both so much at the dojo.
