CHRISTINA CUPO Obituary

CUPO, CHRISTINA M. (TINA) Christina M. (Tina) Cupo, 84, of New Haven, passed away on May 1, 2015 in the CT Hospice, Branford, surrounded by her loving family. She was the adoring wife of the late John V. Cupo. Mrs. Cupo was born in New Haven October 13, 1930, a daughter of the late Giacomo and Amelia Candela Lauria. Tina was a daycare provider for numerous children and was a volunteer at the Ronald McDonald House in New Haven. She was also very involved in the numerous activities of her beloved churches, St. Anthony’s, where she and John were married, as well as St. Rose of Lima and St. Francis. Tina and John loved to go dancing, roller skating and to John’s Navy reunions. She was also an avid duck pin bowler at the Hamden lanes. Mrs. Cupo is survived by three sons, Aldo (Cheryl Bergman) Cupo of New Haven, John (Laurel) Cupo of Henderson, NV, and Vincent (Lori) Cupo of Victoria, TX, six grandchildren, Ellen & Kathryn Cupo of New Haven, Jimmy & Benjamin Cupo of Victoria, TX, and Carissa and Chase Cupo of Henderson, NV, a sister, Vera Minicozzi, of New Haven, a sister in law, Lena Lauria, a brother in law, James Perona, and numerous nieces and nephews. Tina was predeceased by her brothers, Rocco, Anthony, Joseph, and Vito, and sisters, Eleanor, Teresa, and Rose. Funeral from The Celentano Funeral Home, 424 Elm St. (cor. Dwight) New Haven Friday, May 8th, at 10:30. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Francis Church, 397 Ferry St. at 11:00. Friends may call at the funeral home Thursday from 4 to 7 PM and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30. Entombment in the St. Lawrence Garden Mausoleum. Contributions may be made to The CT. Dear Aldo and Family - My dad, John Albino and I offer our deepest sympathies to you. Tina was such a wonderful, warm and caring person. She would always check on Mom if she did not see her in church and would check in on her and dad from time to time. She will be missed.
