Christina "Christy" McCue (née McMahon)

Christy McCue, of Charlestown NH and formerly of Painesville, OH, passed into eternal rest on February 23, 2024. She joins her beloved husband, Kevin McCue, and her parents, Olga and James McMahon.

Born on May 15, 1948, Christy was a beacon of altruism and empathy throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance.
A dedicated educator, Christy devoted her career to the field of special education, where she nurtured the growth and potential of each student with a heartfelt commitment. Her retirement years were enriched by her passion for writing, allowing her to share her insights and experiences with a wider audience.

Christy's life was a celebration of adventure and joy, marked by the beautiful experiences she both sought out and created. Her legacy is one of love, creativity, curiosity, and profound impact on many students, friends, and family members.

She leaves behind a loving family: her daughter Alice, her husband Dan, and their children; her son Chris, his wife, and their children; her sister Eugenie and her partner Edward; sisters-in-law Lindy, Erin, and Susan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss her dearly.

Visiting Hours to honor Christy's memory will be held at Spear Mulqueeny Funeral Home in Painesville, OH, on April 27th from 10 a.m. to noon. Stop in anytime.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice in Christy's memory, continuing her legacy of generosity and openness.

I my first vivid memories of Christi were when John, Christi and I were in the cast of Red Stocking Reviews. I recall her vivaciousness and upbeat attitude. She never seemed to tire.
I also had the pleasure of knowing her through her son Chris as he navigated Riverside Campus.
Christi was " a force of nature" and the the Earth mourns her loss.

Christy was an absolute legend that will be deeply missed by myself and my family. Christy was a compassionate and loving soul. She helped me find new ways to explore the world of writing and inspired me to be able to publish my own book. Four of my most favorite memories are from four separate times. The first time was the first day we met and we talked all about writing and whatever else we could think of. The second time was at my mom's celebration of life. She had a beaming smile that day and I will forever remember how happy she was to be there surrounded by my family and friends and enjoyed getting to know them. The third time we went on a trip with her daughter and granddaughter (two of my favorite humans) to Salem, MA and explored the witch stuff, Hocus Pocus stuff, the mall, the house of seven gables and much more. We went to the lego store and Christy took it upon herself to get me a lego set that she knew I'd love for my birthday as that was three days prior to the trip. This is how Christy guaranteed made an impact on so many because she showed them she deeply cared for them. And last but not least, it was a couple of days before Christmas 2023. We had met up at an event and went in together with a bag of magazines right before this though, I gave her the copy of my book that she had been waiting for months to get. She had a huge sense of pride that night and was so excited to get it finally. I think she was stuck on repeat telling me how she was so proud of me for it. I hope she finally gets the chance to meet my mom like I know she really wanted to. Christy will never be forgotten by me and her impact touched me more than words could ever say. I will forever appreciate all she did for me and the love she shared with everyone she met in her life. You'll forever be missed and loved, I love you. Always.
