Christina M "Chrissy" Monroe

Christina M. (Simione) Monroe, known affectionately as Chrissy, passed away on August 19, 2024, at the age of 61 in Horicon, New York. Born on April 7, 1963, at Glens Falls Hospital, she was the cherished daughter of the late Dominick and Natalie (Fuller) Simione.

Chrissy grew up in Fenimore and spent the rest of her years in the Adirondacks, attending North Warren Central School. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a home health aide and took great pride in her role as a housewife. Surrounded by a large Italian/Irish family, she reveled in holiday gatherings which were often hosted sequentially by her father, sister, mother-in-law, and her closest niece Kathleen (Bill) Baker.

Her love for family was matched by her affection for beloved characters like Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and Eeyore, as well as her daughter's pets, whom she adored as if they were her own. Chrissy's personality was marked by her silly antics and memorable deep belly laugh, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Chrissy leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, Gregory J. Monroe Sr., her stepson Gregory Jr. (Jamie) Monroe, and her beloved daughter Erica (Steve Hannigan). She is also survived by her siblings Sandra Hulings, Christopher Simione, Cecilia (Mike) Magers, Patricia Simione, Anne (Keith) Harvey, Jimmy (Shannon) Simione, Paul Simione, and Frank Simione, as well as her husband's siblings Derek Monroe, JoAnne DeJong, Kevin Monroe, Tina Iverson, and Raymond Monroe. Numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also mourn her loss.

She was predeceased by her parents, her eldest sister Rosemary (Ed) Flaska, and her brother Butch (Shelly) Simione.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family, honoring Chrissy's life and legacy. Her laughter and love will be deeply missed but forever remembered by those who were fortunate to know her.
