CHRISTINA SWEET Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on May 29, 2011.
Christina K. Sweet, nee Kirby, age 32, passed away in Bozeman, MT on May 25, 2011. She was born in Chicago, IL on December 2, 1978, and is survived by her parents, James J. Kirby and Julie K. Maxwell; and by her sister, Kelly M. Kirby. Christina was an adventurous young woman who had a passion for travel and had visited all 48 contiguous states. She loved to be in places that had easy access to the beautiful outdoors and had lived at one time or another in Chicago, Madison, WI, Portland, OR, Glenwood Springs, CO and Bozeman. She was especially fond of Los Cabos, Mexico, a place where her family has deep roots. In each place she formed great friendships and appreciated all that those places and the people who lived there had to offer. Many will miss her. Christina is also survived by her aunts Catherine Kirby-Legier (Gerard), Mary Kirby, Judy Kirby and Connie Maxwell. Services have been held. Memorial donations may be made to Bozeman Deaconess Hospital (Diabetes Center), 931 Highland Avenue, Bozeman, MT 59715 or to any other organization that works to alleviate the scourge of Type 1 diabetes or to support those afflicted by the disease. Christina(we all called her Kirby) was one of the first people to say hello to me when I was on a tour and shadowing a student at Shabazz. Her friendliness continued throughout my education at Shabazz. She inspired me to go on my first trip class and take advantage of all that the amazing alternative High School had to offer, and it was better because of her. Sending sun, prayers and chants.

Christina was one of the best friends a person could have. I will miss her forever. She was always there for me when I really needed a friend I tried to be the same for her. I agree with Mary, her laugh is truly what I will miss the most. I love you Christina.

So sad to hear of Christina's passing. I have so many wonderful memories from fun in middle school, boating in Chicago and summers playing softball. I will keep her and the Kirbys close in my thoughts.

My darling niece Christina will be deeply missed - forever.

She was a unique, loving, fun and beautiful woman who bravely battled a terrible disease.

I think what I'll miss the very most is her wonderful laugh which, no matter what, always made me laugh as well.

May you rest in peace, dearest Christina.

Love,
Aunt Mary
