Christine Johnson Day

(December 20, 1948 - September 1, 2025)

Lois Christine Johnson Day, known to all as Christine, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, in Bountiful, Utah, at the age of 76. She was born on December 20, 1948, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ermina Marie Angell Johnson and Richard C. Johnson.

Christine had a gift for loving and serving others. She was known for her sweet, kind, calm, and loving nature-always with just the perfect touch of humor and sarcasm to keep things light. A wonderful cook, she was especially famous for her cinnamon rolls, which family and friends eagerly anticipated at every gathering. Her home was a place of comfort and laughter, and she was a second mom to many who loved being there.

A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Christine found joy in her faith and in sharing it through quiet service and love.

In 1971, she married Ronald Day, and together they welcomed five children: Anna Day (Joe), Laura Lewis (Christian), Richard Day (Holly), Alayna Day, and Jared Day, who preceded her in death at birth. Christine's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren: McKay Lewis (Jordan), Grant Lewis, Corbin DuBois (Hayli), Carson Lewis (Ainslee), Vanessa DuBois, Jane Lewis, Landon Day, Tessa Day, and Cohen Day. She was also blessed to meet and love her great-grandson, Harvey George Lewis.

Christine was preceded in death by her parents, Marie and Richard; her infant son, Jared; her sister, Karen Erickson; and her brother, Tony Johnson (Darlene Johnson). She is survived by her children; her brothers, Mark Johnson (Barbara) and Bryan Johnson (Judy); her nine grandchildren; and her great-grandson.

Her legacy is one of love, service, and quiet strength. Her family and friends will remember her gentle spirit, her sense of humor, and the warmth she brought into every gathering.

In keeping with her giving heart, Christine chose to donate her body to the University of Utah in hopes that her final act of service might help bring researchers closer to finding a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

A private family service will be held at a later date to honor Christine's life. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in her memory.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Legacy Assisted Living in Bountiful for their loving care over the past two years, and to Inspiration Hospice for their compassion and support.

We loved living across the street from Chris, she was always sweet to our family. She always had funny stories to share about her cats. We have missed seeing her these last couple of years. We send our condolences to the family she loved so much.

Christine was in my 1967 South High graduating class. She was a charming person and great friend. I have such great memories of our association, especially Seminary Leadership class our Senior year. May her family be blessed with peace and comfort.
