Christine Exley, 63, of 226 Walker Drive, Meadville, passed away Monday, Jan. 19, 2009, at Meadville Medical Center.Christine was born in New York, N.Y., Dec. 24, 1945, a daughter of the late Lester and Florence Konick Baker. In 2001 Christine married David L. Exley; he survives.A certified nurse’s aide, Christine had been employed by Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community and United Community Independence Programs. She attended high school in Florida and while living in Ft. Myers, Fla., obtained her General Equivalency Diploma and nurse’s aid certification. In her earlier years she formed a country western band called Gun Shy, in which she sang and managed for more than 11 years.Christine enjoyed the hobby of CB radios and her handle was Spare Rib.In addition to her husband, David, Christine is survived by two sisters, Anna Marie Jones and Mary Ann Curcio, both of Meadville; two brothers, Noard Baker of Meadville, and Tony Curcio and his wife, Kathy, of Jamestown; two godsons, Kenny and Justin Hosick; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, Lester and Florence Baker, Christine was preceded in death by her stepfather, Robert (Bob) Cursio; and a brother, Warren Baker.Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.Arrangements are under the direction of Stephen P. Mizner Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 404 Chestnut St., Meadville, Pa. 16335.
