Christine Fogle

Christine Elaine Fogle, 78 of Thurmont passed away peacefully on Thursday January 26, 2023 at

Northampton Manor in Frederick.

Born July 2, 1944 in Lantz, Maryland she was the daughter of the late Christian C. & Ruth E. nee

McKenrick Shockey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Glenn whom she wed on

September 14, 1962; brothers John, Rodney, and Joseph Shockey; sisters Bernadine Shockey, Andrea

Hall; and granddaughter Tara Lynn Mayland.

During her younger years Christine worked at the shoe factory in Thurmont as well as Clare Frock. Later

on she worked for both McDonald's and Roy Rogers in Thurmont working her way up to manager.

She enjoyed cooking and decorating cakes. She made numerous wedding cakes and other beautiful

cakes that many family members and friends will remember fondly.

Christine was a woman of faith and was a member of Weller United Methodist Church of Thurmont.

Surviving is her son Bryan Fogle (Melody); daughters Bonnie Mayland (Jim), Shirley Knott (Raymond);

sisters Susie Fogle, JoAnn Thompson; grandchildren Rev. James Mayland Jr. (Regina), Robert Mayland,

Jennifer Mayland, Hope Boekelman (Jace), Chad Fogle, Marina Fogle, Kinsey Fogle, Emmy Fogle; Jamie

Marsh; nine great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends on WEDNESDAY February 1, 2023 at Weller United Methodist Church 101

N. Altamont Ave. Thurmont, MD beginning at 10 AM with services starting promptly at 11 AM with

Pastor Mark Eyler officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Weller United Methodist Church 101 N.
