Christine O'Gorman Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 23 to Jun. 24, 2018.
Christine (Chris) Ann Killam O'Gorman, age 51, passed away unexpectedly on June 13, 2018, in Malden, MA. Chris was born in Topeka, KS.

Chris lived in eleven different states plus the District of Columbia over her lifetime. She graduated from Randolph High School in New Jersey, received her bachelor's degree from The American University, Washington, DC, and achieved a Masters of Public Affairs degree from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Devoted to a life of Public Service, Chris was most recently the Financial Administrator for the US Bankruptcy Court in Boston, MA.

Chris is survived by her husband, Jim O'Gorman and her son Austin O'Gorman; her parents, Ray and Sharon Killam, brother Michael Bradley Killam, sister Sarah Killam Stephens, brother-in-law Michael Stephens, nephews Zachary, Andrew and Nathan Stephens, sister-in-law Catherine O'Gorman Kinney, brother-in-law Alson Kinney and many other family and friends. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed.

A fierce champion of the US Constitution and civil rights, Chris enjoyed running and athletics, engaging in spirited debates with family and friends. Chris was a devoted mother and was an ardent supporter of her son Austin's many educational and sports activities. She was a proud animal rights advocate and a vegan. She also battled depression and courageously helped raise awareness of mental illness among many.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to the Rutland County Humane Society, 765 Stevens Road, Pittsford, VT, 05763, or the Woodstock Farm Sanctuary, 2 Rescue Road, High Falls, NY, 12440, or the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) at www.nami.org.

A Celebration of Chris's life will be held on July 1, 2018, 1-4 pm, at Gladstone Community Center, 6901 N. Holmes Street, Gladstone, MO 64118. Family and friends are welcome to join us in celebrating her life.
