Earl Kenneth Garner, 88, of Farmland, went to be with his Lord Thursday morning, March 7, 2013 at Parker Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center of Parker City.
He was born December 11, 1924 in Hamilton, Ohio to the late Ora and Lillie (Sandrige) Garner. He graduated Hamilton High School and attended Olivet Nazarene College where he met his wife of 65 years, Mary Harshman.
Earl honorably served as a Aviation Cadet from 1943-1945 in the Army Air Corps. He retired from ITT Barton as a Service Engineer, providing field support. Prior to Earl's admittance to Parker Healthcare, Mary and Earl resided in Farmland and attended Farmland Church of the Nazarene.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife of 65 years, Mary Elizabeth; a daughter, Mary Sue Vanderwall (husband, Daniel) of Brea, Calif.; a sister, Ruth Zeisloft (husband, Stanley) of Hamilton, Ohio; three grandsons, Joseph Jr., Jason and Josh Wolosonovich; a granddaughter, Janna Price; and a great grandchild, Jacob "Jake" Owen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Carol Anne Wolosonovich-Comer; a brother, Emerson Garner; and a sister, Esther Tipton.
A service to celebrate Earl's life is 3 p.m. today at Thornburg Memorial Chapel, Parker City. Burial is at Spartanburg Cemetery of rural Lynn.

Mary extends her thanks and appreciation to the Parker Healthcare Staff for their care of Earl this past year and a half.
