Christopher Adamson Obituary
Published by Legacy Remembers from Feb. 23 to Feb. 26, 2008.
Christopher William Adamson, 23, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, in Vancouver, WA. His faith in Christ ensures that he is at peace and we are comforted to know that he is in a better place. Chris was born June 15, 1984, in Yakima, WA. He attended Nob Hill Elementary and Wilson Middle School and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 2003. After high school, he attended YVCC and Portland Community College. Chris loved his family and friends and enjoyed great times with all of them. His friends were so dear to him and he always spoke very highly of those who he was close to. He loved to spend time just "chillin'" with his friends or contacting them through his MySpace page. He always loved anything with a motor or wheels, from using the "vacoomay" when he was a very little boy, to biking all over the neighborhood as a youngster, and since getting his driver's license, driving all around town in one of his many beloved cars. He enjoyed working on his car and had a unique way of trouble-shooting problems and fixing them. He loved to go snowmobiling with his dad, and was always there to help his dad get out of the deep snow when he got stuck. He enjoyed their many trips "tearing up the slopes," as he would put it, and always tried to reach the high mark on every run up the hill. The best part of their snowmobiling trips, were the talks they had traveling to and from their destinations. Chris and his mom shared a very close, special relationship that provided Chris with much love and comfort. Over the past five months, while living in Vancouver, Chris was very excited to get to spend some special time with his brother, Matthew, going to Portland Timbers soccer games and sharing a pizza or two. They had great times sharing meals at Matthew and Liz's home, too. Chris also had a very special place in his heart for his nephew, Caleb. He was so proud to be an uncle, and he loved Caleb very much. Chris loved his music, as well as his cat, Squeaky, and kittens, Sneaky and Vanilla. Chris is survived by his parents, Bob and April Adamson of Yakima; his brother, Matthew Adamson, sister-in-law, Liz Adamson and nephew, Caleb Adamson of Portland, OR; grandparents, Jim and Carol Adamson of Plain, WA and Dewaine and Shirley Kempton of Yakima; uncles and aunts, Jim and Carol Adamson of East Wenatchee, WA, Rich and Jan Adamson of Vancouver, WA and Tim and Beth Kempton of Aloha, OR; as well as cousins, Kristie Hays, Kenny Adamson, Stacy Adamson, Dan Adamson and Kyle Kempton. A Family Viewing was held on Friday, February 8, 2008, at the Hamilton Mylan Funeral Home in Vancouver, WA. A Celebration of Chris's Life will be held at the Plain Community Church in Plain, WA on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 1:00 p.m., after which he will be laid to rest at the Hillcrest Haven of Rest Cemetery on private family land near Plain, WA. Donations in Chris's memory can be made to the Yakima Chapter of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, P.O. Box 10918, Yakima, WA 98909.>
