Christopher ANSTEY Memoriam

Published by Ottawa Citizen on Mar. 16, 2013.
ANSTEY, Christopher Robert
Retired from the National Research Council, passed suddenly, and far too soon, on March 16, 2008. Despite a successful kidney transplant in 2005, heart complications led to his passing at 66 years. He was born in Bristol, England and emigrated to Canada with his family in 1974. He is still treasured by his wife Muriel Mischook, his son Martin Anstey, his daughter Jenny Anstey, son-in-law Don Carroll, grandson Perry Carroll and his sister Ley Pierce. There are so many other lives he touched, who feel diminished by his passing, yet enriched and uplifted by being part of his life. Chris was such an easy person to love. He was always 'good company,' enjoying the moment with people, making them feel like they were the only people who mattered. When we sit quietly and re-live our memories, it is always Chris' laughter, calm and warmth that come shining through as if he still stands beside us. Five years without you, Chris, has slipped by but our love for you and pride for the man you were is still as strong.
Rest knowing you did life well.

In both our hearts every day. Thinking of the time we talked about driving different cars from England to Canada. Rest in Peace.

I often think I see your face in a crowd, and I smile. I remember your gentle way and the twinkle in your eye. You left us far too soon but you taught us the lessons of compassion and acceptance. We continue to love those that you loved.
