Christopher Steven Bankert, 56, of Concord, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at AngelsGrace Hospice.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25, at 4:30 p.m. at Hafemeister Funeral Home. Family and friends may gather at Hafemeister Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service. Memorials, if desired, may be directed to AngelsGrace Hospice. Hafemeister Funeral Home and Cremation Service is serving the family. Online condolences may be made at www.hafemeisterfh.com.

Christopher was born on February 27, 1968, in Oconomowoc. He was a graduate of Watertown High School, and he attended MATC.

On May 1, 1993, he married Cindy Brown at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church in Oconomowoc. Chris was a heat and frost insulator for more than 25 years. He was a very hard worker who enjoyed taking care of the farm and raising cows. Chris was a loving father who cherished keeping busy and playing with his grandchildren.

Chris is survived by his wife, Cindy Bankert of Concord; children, Courtney Bankert of Concord and Corissa (Adam) Troyer of Lake Mills; grandchildren, Aubrey Pratz and David Pratz; father, Ernest Bankert; siblings, Scott (Michelle) Bankert, Cory (Patrisha) Bankert, and Stacy (Craig) Schwefel, all of Concord; his cat, Abby; and all his cows. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Karen Bankert, as well as grandparents, aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
