Christopher "Chris" Palmer Beattie

Christopher "Chris" Palmer Beattie, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at Columbus Hospice House, Columbus, GA.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday February 23, 2016 at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Rd., Columbus, Georgia, with Rev. Scott Tucker officiating. The family will receive friends, Monday evening, February 22, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mr. Beattie was born April 29, 1967, in Macon, Georgia, to Edwin Palmer Beattie and Barbara Blackwell Beattie. Chris grew up and lived in Columbus most of his life, graduate of Hardaway High School and attended Columbus College (CSU). He worked at Miller Precast for many years, Tannerstone Architectural Concrete Company, Inc, Palmetto, Georgia.
Chris was very talented and could build anything. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially being on the water at Lake Harding, where he lived for several years. As a young boy, he played Pop Warner football and Little League baseball. He also had a love for working with Neal Wickham and his "Red Hat Gang", helping to blaze the Pine Mountain Trail, Pine Mountain, GA.
Other than his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Carolann Reilly Beattie and his son, Scot Palmer Beattie; sister, Shannon Beattie Miller (Shawn), niece, Shelby Miller, nephews, Shane Miller and Seth Miller, all of Dallas, Georgia; Rexanne Wilson, mother of his children; aunts, uncles, cousins, and his devoted companion, Deborah Potts.
Chris was preceded in death by his beloved younger brother, Scot Blackwell Beattie.
The family would like to extend many thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses, caretakers, and volunteers who give so much care and love to the patients at Columbus Hospice House.
