I knew Chris when my father, Bill Keefe, hired him at the Times Picayune in New Orleans. My family moved to Huntsville years later and I saw his byline in the Times and emailed him about it. He was a great writer, hard-working and talented. I'm so sorry to see that his byline will be forever gone. Isabelle Keefe Marrero

Chris was a lot of fun to know and a great friend to have. He contributed much more to the city of Decatur than most people realize. I feel fortunate to have been his friend.

During a period of time, Chris was News Director for every radio station in Decatur, at the same time. The man lived and breathed news and maintained a marvelous sense of humor. So many memories of Chris Bell.
My condolences to the family. RIP, Chris.

Chris was a great friend that I got to know over many years while living in Limestone Co. Al. He was always doing things for others. He was a credit to photo journalism and will be missed by all that knew him.

I knew Chris when I was a DJ at WMSL Radio in Decatur. He brought our local news in around 4:30 am daily. Always friendly and upbeat. Great news man and always had good conversation with him. He will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace Chris Bell.
