Christopher Joseph Benz

Christopher Joseph Benz, a devoted father, loving companion, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Chino Hills, California, on September 19, 2025. He was 74.

Born on August 11, 1951, in Mineola, New York, Chris lived a life full of passion, laughter, and unwavering loyalty. After a distinguished 28-year career with Delta Airlines, he found a second calling in the world of golf, working as a beloved caddie on the LPGA Tour for 15 years. His love of the game, combined with his deep knowledge and quick wit, made him a favorite among players and peers alike.

Chris had a zest for life that was infectious. He loved the Yankees, Irish culture, great music, a perfect pint of Guinness, and-most of all-his family, friends, and pets. He will be remembered for his kind eyes, contagious smile, his sharp sense of humor, and the warmth he brought into every room.

He is survived by his long-time companion and the love of his life, Joanne Morsillo; his devoted siblings, Charlie Benz (Sandy), Kathleen Benz Olsen (Johnny), Priscilla Soler (Michael), and Timothy Benz (Francine); his loving daughters, Stephanie Astrin (Jordan) and Valerie Cumbie (Chris); and his adored grandchildren, Gracie Johnson, Mattie Hall, Allie Hall, Lillie Hall, Jordi Astrin, and Aaliyah Cumbie. He also leaves behind many treasured nieces and nephews, and his beloved pups, Copper and Bowie.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Chris's name to AngelaStanfordFoundation.org, supporting causes dear to his heart.

A celebration of life will be held on Chris' favorite holiday, St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2026, with location to be determined. Friends and loved ones are invited to gather, raise a glass, share stories, and honor the life of a truly unforgettable man.

Chris lived life his way-with joy, generosity, and a Guinness in hand. He will be missed beyond measure.
