Christopher Blake Sr. Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 12, 2023.
Christopher J. Blake Sr., 59, passed away on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 in Santa Jose, CA.

Born in Brooklyn, NY he was a graduate of Bishop Egan High School, PA ('82), University of Pennsylvania ('86), and Temple University Law School ('93).

Chris loved his children, Christopher Jr. and his wife Courtney, and Jacquelyn, along with their mother, Michelle Krysko (nee McAndrew). He is also survived by his mother Elaine Blake (nee Rossman), his siblings, Debbie Ferraro (Jim), Suzanne Blake (Zanne), Patricia Lyons (Bryan), Paul Blake (Linda) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his brother, Bill Blake, and father, William H. Blake.

He will be remembered for his rare intellect and boundless energy. Every room Chris walked into was a party, and legends of his wild youth will live on forever. A traveler and true cosmopolitan, Chris called a myriad of cities home over his life. His long storied career in sales, law, and healthcare took him to New York, Fort Lauderdale, Charlotte, Columbus, and recently San Jose. Each place he came and went he made lasting connections, and his friend network spanned the country in a huge embrace. Getting good deals on hotels, thrifted clothes and a nice red wine was his perpetual quest. If he ever crashed at your house you were sure to wake up to a huge spread of McDonald's breakfast. Chris was just as comfortable talking about politics, religion, and the human experience as he was talking about his favorite cult movies and television he loved to refer to as "twisted." He never hesitated to use his experience in law and healthcare to aid friends and family pro bono. The world lost a rare one, and he will be sorely missed.

Family and close friends are invited to visit with his family on Saturday, July 8th, 2023 at 11:30am, ValleyPoint Church: 209 Bethel Rd, Glen Mills, PA.

Although I did not stay in touch with Chris after we graduated from Penn in 1986, he is the source of some of my fondest memories, and I recognize what a great loss this is for so many. Not only was he so much fun, but he was also one of the kindest men I have ever met. I wish his family peace and comfort.

Although Chris and I lost touch many years ago, I look back at our college years and he is for sure one of the brightest lights on those times. His energy and zest for life were unmistakable. I remember once telling Chris "I'd trust you with my life, but probably not with my laundry!" He was a guy who was always there when it counted. I found this the photo in our 1986 Penn Yearbook which I think captured his spirit in those times. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends...may his spirit live on forever in your hearts!
