Christopher Carl Hardee, 58, lovingly known as “Chris,” passed away early on the morning of Thursday, November 19, 2020 at his home, surrounded by his family after an extended illness.
Chris was born in Mullins, a son to Carl and Louise “Tootie” Sarvis Hardee, on November 25, 1962. Chris who dearly loved his daddy, helped out in the family business, he was co-owner and operator of Hardee’s Service Center in Mullins, on the corner of Highway 76 and Park Street. Chris’ love of cars spilled over into one of his favorite pastimes of NASCAR. Chris loved a race and was a diehard Dale Earnhardt fan. If you knew Chris you knew he always had a joke to tell, he enjoyed people’s laughter. He also enjoyed the getting back to nature time he spent hunting and fishing, his outdoor time taking trips to the mountains, even if it was just to get away to enjoy the cool, crisp air.
Surviving Chris in addition to his parents, Carl and Louise Sarvis Hardee are his children: Christopher Brent (Hollie) Hardee of Mullins, William Thad (Kayla) Hardee of Nichols, Waylon Tyler (Hannah) Hardee of Mullins, Cody Carl (Gloria) Hardee of Mullins and Michael Allen (Michelle) Conner of Little River; his Grandchildren: Luke and Lanie Hardee, Reid Hardee, Jacob Conner and Leann Rose Conner; the Mother of his children: Melinda Moore; his Two Sisters: Pamela Hardee (Bill) Lawson of Mullins and Amy Hardee (Thomas) McLeod of Green Sea; Four Nieces and a Nephew; and a Lifetime Friend, Cecil Stroud.
Chris was predeceased by his sister, Paula Renee Hardee.
A graveside service for Chris will be held Sunday afternoon, November 22, at 2:00 P.M. in Red Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery, with Rev. Robbie Baxley and Dr. John Odom officiating. The family will receive friends following the service there at the cemetery.
The service will be livestreamed on the Cox-Collins Funeral Home Facebook page. We ask people in attendance to please wear masks during and while speaking to the family for everyone’s safety and to follow social distancing protocol.

I met Chris about 14 yrs. He was always smiling and happy go lucky. I have a special place in my heart for Chris because he always treated me fair and our friendship grew over the years. He told me how he liked going to The Smokies and since that was the last placed I lived. I gave him my tag. I am so sorry for everyone loss. He was so full of life. I just found out today. And I am speechless. Rest in peace my dear friend. I will miss you .Marilyn Hart
