LIZELLA – Christopher (Chris) Wayne Wilder, 19, died Saturday, July 3, 2010. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Snow's Memorial Chapel, Pio Nono Avenue with burial in Glen Haven Memorial
Gardens. Mr. Earl Land will officiate. The family will meet friends from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Chris was born in Macon and worked as a security guard with Securitas at Houston Healthcare. Chris was a kind and loving young man and nothing will be the same without his smile.
Those who will miss him most are his parents, Joe and Dawn Wilder of Macon; his brother, Jason Wilder of Macon; his grandparents, Charlie and Faye Wilder of Lizella, Karen and James Lawson of Dry Branch and Larry McDaniel of Macon; his fiancée, Lacy Harrell of Macon; his "other brother," Brandon Wood of Jones County; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

I have been thinking a lot about chris lately and i wanted to let you all know that i loved Chris very much i am just so glad i got to tell him that a couple weeks before the accident because i don't think i would have been able to forgive myself. i love you chris..... I didnt know Chris very well and we didnt cross paths that much in school but when we did he was always so sweet to me and he will surely be missed by many!! We love you Chris and Rest in Peace!!

Chris you will be truly missed so much by me man. I will always love you like a brother. We had many,many crazy times together and I'll never forget them. It's depressing that your gone so soon, but one day I'll be up there with you buddy. I'll promise you too that Jason will have me to watch after him like another brother as well. Dawn - I am so sorry for your loss sweetheart. Kaden has been so worried about you. He says that we need to come give you a big hug when you come back to work. He asks me everyday if your back. Chris was such a big part of our family. Being Brandons best friend, gave us the honor of spending so much time with him. I had the pleasure of meeting Chris when I first started working at the Rum Creek store six years ago. He made such an impression on me. He was so polite and kind and friendly. It was always a pleasure to see him. He was just too good for this world. My heartfelt condolences to his parents and family.

I knew Chris back when we went to Mattie Wells. He was one of my best friends. He always knew what to do to make me happy when I needed it. He was always putting other people before himself. I've never met anyone else even remotely similar to him. He's been one of the greatest friends and he will be missed dearly. May he rest in peace. Although we have never met Chris, I would like for you to know how his tragic accidental death on July 3rd, as left an impression on my daughter Cassie Crowley and stepdaughter Chelsea Hampton and myself. Cassie and Chelsea were on the river that day and came out of the water at Pope’s Ferry boat ramp when rescue workers were trying to save Chris. As of this day we will never forget Chris, and we have been upset over his death as if we knew him well. Cassie and Chelsea have promised they will NEVER again raft down the Ocmulgee River. Our prayers are with you all.
