Christopher Davis Obituary

Christopher Davis

Williamston - Christopher Blake Davis of Williamston, Michigan left this world on March 25, 2021. Chris was born in Coldwater, Michigan on March 14, 1962, to Jeannine and Bernie Davis, their second child. The family moved to Williamston when Chris was in middle school, and he graduated from Williamston High School. Chris regularly attended Williamston home football games in the fall and was a proud alum of WHS.

Chris always loved music and played guitar and keyboards, and while he was in his twenties, performed, with his band in the mid-Michigan area, and toured in southern states.

Chris's beautiful daughter McKenna was the love of his life and he cherished his time with her. He purchased and renovated a camper and they traveled up to northern Michigan whenever they could. For three wonderful summers, he left the camper at his brother Tim's place on Whitmore Lake, making great family memories, as McKenna and her cousins filled their days with swimming, boating, and hanging together.

Chris moved back to Williamston to live with and help his mother manage her large home, particularly maintaining the outside yard. He was always generous and kind, lending a hand to neighbors with snow removal after some of the bigger storms or other chores. Chris became self-employed and created Davis Lawn Care; his equipment, especially his stand-up and riding lawn mowers were always top-of-the-line quality.

Chris was a diehard Michigan State fan and flew the Spartan flag much of the year, especially during football and basketball seasons. He was happiest with friends and family, having a few beers and enjoying good food. Chris will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chris was predeceased by his father Bernard Davis and is survived by his daughter McKenna, his mother Jeannine Davis of Williamston, sister Kimberley (Dave Little) of Indianapolis, brother Timothy (Sheila) of Whitmore Lake, and nephews Jordan, Adam and Averey, and niece Heather, as well as special friends the Paul and Shellie Finn family.

The Davis family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the charity of your choice in memory of Christopher Davis.

A Celebration of Chris' life will be held at 2 pm, Saturday, April 3, 2021, at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Home, 205 E. Middle Street, Williamston with the visitation on Friday, April 2, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Online Condolences can be uploaded as well as join a live-stream of the service at www.GRWilliamston.com

Cousin Chris was such a sincere nice compassionate guy who always was family first. His easy going nature made it impossible to not walk away from him saying "What a great guy". That is what you will always remember. I will miss him so very much as there is another big hole in the hearts of family.

Chris was a good friend growing up in Williamston and into our early adulthood. Life as it does takes you separate ways, but I was able to reconnect some through social media and I am very glad about that. I don't think I ever remember a bad word said about Chris. We shared a lot of laughs, sports, good times, and friendships. Sympathy to his family and friends. This truly seems like one of life's injustices. It stinks knowing your are no longer in this earth my friend. You will be missed.

He was a fun guy to be around. He made all around him laugh and smile. He will be missed... Godspeed Chris.

From our days together roaming the halls of Williamston HS to later in life, seeing Chris in Minneapolis in the 90's for our summer sales meetings with Lifetouch, he always brought a smile and a warm heart to each conversation. Another one of the good guys, that while in the flesh we don't understand why he left so soon, we must have faith that he had served his earthly purpose. Blessings of God's peace on the Davis family and friends.
