Christopher Slaughter Doty

Christopher Slaughter Doty, 47, beloved father of Justin Slaughter Doty, died Tuesday July 11, 2006, at his home in Redding.

Christopher was born December 29, 1958, in Stamford, son of Roy Doty of Dublin, Ohio, and the late Jean Slaughter Doty, of Wilton.

Christopher attended Indian Mountain and St. Luke's schools in Connecticut and attended Fairfield University, Broward Community College and Western Connecticut State University.

For many years prior to his illness, Christopher was employed in the music and video industries and was an avid music and video aficionado.

Christopher's greatest joy came from spending time with his son Justin. He loved fly fishing, motorcycles and being outdoors, and his favorite place in the world was Block Island, R.I.

He grew up around many animals, which he loved, especially cats, and leaves behind his much loved cat of 15 years, Turbo. He was loved and will be forever missed by family and friends.

In addition to his son and father, he is survived by his ex-wife, Dawn Reshen-Doty of Redding; a brother, Dr. Jeffrey Doty of Saratoga, Calif.; and a sister, Deborah Hall, of Madison; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Christopher was predeceased by his sister, Deidre Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Friday July 21, 2006, at Wilton Congregation Church, 70 Ridgefield Road, Wilton. Cremation will take place at the direction of the family.
