I knew Chris from working with him at the VA in JP. He was always a gentleman to all and worked hard to put his life back on the right track. The last time we spoke he'd found a book that we'd talked about because he knew of my hobby and fascination with feudal Japan and the Samurai culture. He found a used copy of 'SHOGUN' at the good will store in JP, gave it to me, and said "you'll love it I'm sure". I got the word of his passing while on a mini- vacation this week. I'm sure Chris would have forgiven me with a grin and joke about my weak punctuality habits.
To Chris' family I'm very sorry for your loss and sadness. I talked to him about my poem writing, this small one is his;

His was a bright star that was gone from the twilight sky, too soon did he leave us like the blink of an eye.
Many are sadly left behind to ask why and weep.
But with hope, faith, and prayers the Lord on high said " There's Chris, him I'll keep"
Good Bye Chris by the way the book is awesome.

Paul Provencher, director of veterans' services for the town of Middleborough, here. It took me by surprise to read of the passing of Chris. I have fond memories of working with him from my office while he lived in Middleborough. I followed how he was doing by having conversations with others in the counseling profession that helped him along the way. Sorry to hear that he passed on.
