Christopher GRASSWICK

GRASSWICK _ Christopher Hugh, aka "Grass". Died tragically 24 May 2002 high on Mt Kangchenjunga, Nepal, the world's third highest peak, while descending from its summit. Born 4 Nov 1962 at RCAF Stn Cold Lake, Chris grew up in Tsawwassen, B.C. After gaining his commercial pilot's license, Chris joined the C.A.F. and served a tour with 439 squadron flying CF-18 Hornets in Baden-Baden Germany. Following his service career, he joined Cathay Pacific Airlines and was currently based in Hong Kong. A true adventurer, Chris had a passionate love of the outdoors and had successfully completed numerous climbs throughout the world, as well as solo kayak trips around Vancouver Island and the Queen Charlottes. He is survived by his forever-loving partner Natalie Kelemen, his father Hugh, and sister Heidi, having been predeceased by his mother Sheelah in 1998. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by a large extended family and many friends worldwide. A gathering in celebration of his life will be held Saturday, July 27, 1:30 - 4:30 p.m., UBC Botanical Gardens.
