Truly sorry to hear of our loss , childhood friends forever as I sit on "our" corner right now

Many people from Park Slope knew him as Chris, Greaney, or The Hammer. He was a special friend to all! To many he was family!! He often popped over when there was a party going on of good food and liquor. Chris offered a helping hand when ever he thought he was needed. Boy, Am I going to miss him as many others are!! Rest in Peace Hammer!!!

Chris always had a song in his heart & a truly jolly disposition that enlightened us all from youth to adulthood. His years with the FDNY were his call to glory. We all will miss him, but god has called him to his next assignment now in heaven. Be in peace Chris...

My heart and prayers go out to all of the Greaney family. Chris was a wonderful person and such an important part of our years growing up in Park Slope. I'll remember great afternoons after school in the park playing sports. The memories are plentiful. God Bless you Chris and keep you and may he ease the sorrow felt by your brothers and sisters and all of your family. Rest In Peace my friend.

We were fortunate to enjoy many years in Park Slope with great neighbors. The Greaney Family was most certainly among them. Our children grew up together and went to the same schools and church. We were blessed to know them all. Our prayers and condolences go out to all the Greaneys during this difficult period. May God ease all of your pain and welcome another deserving soul into his arms.

Chris our families are forever connected. So many good days and memories and I will miss your smile and humor. You were a gentle soul. Our childhoods on 3rd Street would not have been the same without you and your family. You were wonderful neighbors and friends and truly part of our family. God Bless you Chris.

Rest In Peace Chris. May God embrace you as you reunite with your loving parents. You will always be part of so many great memories of the Park Slope we knew and loved. You are forever part of the mosaic of the Brooklyn that made us. God Bless. See you on the other side.
