Christopher Thomas Jensen Greene was born in Portland June 5, 1986 to Thomas and Shannon Greene, and died Jan. 15, 2023 from a heart attack due to complications with diabetes. He attended Duniway, Sellwood, and Cleveland High Schools and graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in economics and the University of Portland with an MBA.
Family was important to Chris and he especially enjoyed his starring role as the one and only uncle to Josephine and Theodore. Family gatherings were always significant events on his calendar. Christopher was a traveler and sports enthusiast. He loved interesting food and drink, movies, and a good book. He traveled extensively in North America, as well as Europe and Asia and was busy planning his spring trip to Portugal. He was an excellent cook and baker and his knowledge of sports and movie trivia was peerless. He was a lifelong learner, and he had an insatiable curiosity about his latest interest. He loved his Oregon Ducks and was an enthusiastic and loyal Padres fan. He also loved to play golf, tennis, and soccer. He had a host of friendships that endured over decades, and they were very important to him. Chris also loved his neighborhood, its gardens, golf course, campuses, and nearby shopping districts.
Chris is survived by his parents; and sister, Brittany, and her husband, Kevin, their children; a host of extended family members; and a beloved group of friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Paul and Mary Lou Jensen; and George and Norma Greene.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Feb. 11, 2023, St. Mary's Cathedral. Gone from our presence, but in our hearts forever.

Thank you to all who have shared their thoughts and condolences on this website. Chris is gone from our presence, but never from our hearts and minds. His passing was marked with a funeral mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral with over 400 in attendance and others viewed the service online. It was followed by a reception. Chris’ family members express gratitude for the many kindnesses shown to them during this time of mourning.

Tom and Shannon,
Having lost a son just last April,

As I reflect on the over 25 years of friendship with Chris, I keep remembering how kind and sincere he was. Chris was always there when someone needed a listening ear and no matter how much time had passed, he always made me feel that he valued our friendship. My love goes out to his family and I am so grateful I was lucky enough to have a friend like him.

To Tom and Shannon,
I cannot fathom your grief at losing Chris. My heart is with you and Brittany as well as his close group of friends. I remember Chris as a good natured, kind, athletic boy with endless energy. To me he was a delightful kid. Some of my fondest memories are with him and that core group of boys who played sports together for years. I will always cherish him and those times together. Wishing you peace and comfort.

Oh friends, I am so sorry for your loss. For me, Chris will always be "Brittany´s lively little brother" and yet I know he grew into much, much more as an adult, including the role of beloved uncle. Thank you for writing about his life and letting our hearts be with you in your grief.

From the day I met Chris, his exuberant smile caught my heart. His friendship with my son Ben, since age 5, was a time of lifelong laughing, sports, and sharing. I will remember his love of his family most, and his ability to make me feel loved, even after long absences. I will miss you Chris.
