Christopher GUAY Obituary

Published by Edmonton Journal on Feb. 28, 2017.
GUAY, Christopher Edwin
On February 21, 2017, Chris Guay of Edmonton passed away at the age of 49 years old. Chris known as 'Eddie' is survived by his parents, Andre and Louise Guay; his sister, Nicole (Gavin) Van Kuppeveld; brother, Robert (Leslie) Guay; his three nieces, Sarah, Carmen, and Lauren; and side kick partner Alicia Stanley.
As a younger man Chris enjoyed a career as a civil engineering technologist, played in softball tournaments, was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed the outdoors. After many years of struggling with Crohn's, addiction, and mental health issues, we find some relief in knowing that he is no longer suffering and is finally at peace.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Glenwood Funeral Home located at 52356 Range Road 232, Sherwood Park. If desired donations in memory of Chris may be made to the charity of your choice.

Guay Family,

I have known Chris since we were kids. I have so many fond memories. When I first heard the news, I reflected on all the times we spent in Sherwood Park.Driving his dads car around SP on a Friday night. The arcade days. Bush parties. High School. I recall his laugh. Many a fun time with the gang. I am very glad I got to see him at our 20 year reunion.
I take comfort in knowing that Chris is now at peace. I hurt for his family as this is a huge loss and much grief comes with that. RIP Chris you were one of the good ones!

Andy, Louise, Nicole and Bob,

I am so very sorry for your loss. Eddie was one of my closest friends for most of our lives. We did everything together for such a long long time. My heart just aches. Please take some comfort in knowing he is no longer suffering and in pain.

if there was one thing for sure about Ed, if you got in a boat with him, you were guaranteed to catch fish!! What an expert angler. i hope he has a big one on the line right now.

All my love,

Cam
