In memory of

Chris was my closest friend of 46 years, since 1971. Our paths crossed so often whether in S.F., Taipei or Hong Kong. Each day I wonder why a person so full of good and caring spirit departs earlier than some of us, left behind, who are merely surrounded with mundane earthly daily thoughts and deeds. Chris found the answer early, and everyday was convinced the silent good he did for family, friends, and at Caritas will bring reward of real importance, ultimate rest when he is lifted up to a higher ethereal place where he is granted everlasting peace. From day 1, he put all his family first and friends next. While every one of us feel dear Chris was taken too early, after all, he was the best and the kindest, but we must somehow accept that he went early to the best anyone can imagine, Chris would be willing, accepting and contented. He was the best ! Robert Wu

I was so sad and shocked to hear about Mr. Liang's passing. He was completely fine when I saw him before CNY in HK. I remembered the trip we took to Kashgar when I first met Mr. Liang. He was energetic and a very fun person to be with. Mr. Liang was a great person with a big caring heart. He domonstarted a great character for his love to his family and service to his religion. His passing is a big loss. My deepest condolences to his beloved family, wish them well and strong during this difficult time. May Mr. Liang rest in heavenly peace.

Dear Christopher and Liang's family,
I was Christopher's student from Macau, I knew him in the fall of 2014. Time was really fast, these years Christopher brought me lots of good memories and joy.
I remember when I started to know Christopher, he patiently taught me a lot of English words and vocabularies for everyday use. As time went by, we used simple English to communicate, read novels and articles. Within only few hours every week, Christopher not only enhanced my interest in learning English, but also explained some of the historical and cultural background of English words so that Icould gain more knowledge out of the text books.
We met by chance in charity Bazaar in 2014, Christopher played games in the neighborhood. After he won his prize , he called me and said he had something to give me. I was very happy and surprised that he gave me a hedgehog doll. At that time, I thought the time we knew wasn't very long through, but he would think of me. I put that hedgehog in my bagpack and took it to school everyday like Christopher had been with me. Sometimes my classmates found it, I would not feel unhappy by being ridiculed.
I had a big change in my childhood, it made me lose my ability and many things, so that I had a lot of resentment and misunderstanding about myself and my surroundings. I never mentioned anything to him, but he knew about me more much than myself likely. He knew what I needed, and he gave me with kindness and selflessness.
Christopher had good characteristics: He was helpful and knew how to live with a pure heart, he gave me innocent love as God gave me the most precious gift.
I am here again to thank him and his family.
"Christopher, you didn't say much to me, but I knew your patience and expectations to me. "
"No matter how far you have gone already, I will wait you forevermore, you are always in my heart."
Take Care

Mrs. Liang & Patrick,
I was saddened to learn about Chris' passing. It made me think of us being neighbors as kids. I distinctly remember one time where your dad took Nelson, you and me to the museum of Science and Industry in Chicago. I always remember that trip because your dad patiently explained to me questions that were so ahead of my years. I always admired that attribute, patience.
May God rest his soul...

Dear Stella, Patrick, Cheryl and Anthony,
Maria and I are profoundly saddened to hear of Christopher's passing. We had dinner and came home for a long chat two weeks ago. I am very grateful we had that opportunity. Christopher was my oldest friend. We have been friends since we were in Form 2. We shared so many adventures and wonderful times, as you can only when you are young. Christopher's mother, Aunt Phoebe, always treated my brother and I as family; their house was a second home. I am now alone with those memories. Christopher was gentle, kind and loving with great determination to helping others, to which purpose he devoted himself for many years. I will also miss him for his keen and gentle sense of humour.
Our deepest sympathy to the family. While I am not one for prayers, I will pray for Christopher.

Dear Stella, Patrick and Cheryl, This is really a shock. We just had lunch with Chris on 1/22/2017. Chris told us that he would leave for US on CNY's eve and we were talking about visiting him in Vegas one day, not realizing it was forever good bye seeing him off in a taxi. He will always be fondly remembered by us. John and Mamie (Hong Kong)

It was with great sorrow that I received the news of our dear friend's passing. It was about a year and a half ago that Chris, Peter Lee and I had a mini-reunion at the Wah Yan '59 Class Reunion in Las Vegas.
