Christopher Michael O’Hara was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1975. Born to Ken and Kathleen he was
the oldest child. He attended Holt Public schools and graduated in 1993. He was a student athlete and
performed cross country, wrestling, and track. Upon graduation he attended Michigan State University, in
the hospitality field. He never stopped being a Spartan, he was dyed green and white all the way through
(a point of contention: James O’Hara). Chris had many hobbies and was an avid game player. He loved
strategy tabletop games immensely, he did have a particular fondness for trading card games.
Along his journey he met and married Cindy, who became his first wife and the mother to two of his
greatest accomplishments.
When Marissa was born, it was the first of many “best days of his life”. He smiled and greeted all of his
friends and family to welcome this precious life. Marissa and Chris shared that competitive spirit and
would talk before, during, and after games. He did this because he loved her and wanted her to succeed
and to never give up and always improve. He always provided his council and guidance.
Two years after Marissa, his son Nicholas was born. Chris was overly ecstatic to tell everyone the news.
It seemed as if he was on top of the world. Chris and Nicholas shared together their love of card games,
and would often spend their time talking about strategies. What Chris really enjoyed was the time he got
to spend with Nicholas playing games, going to card shops, and just talking about all of the great things in
Nicholas’s life.
Sadly, it was not meant for Chris and Cindy and they parted ways, both loving parents to their children.
As Christopher moved on with his life he met and married the second love of his life, Carissa, in 2011.
Together in 2017 they had a daughter, Aria. Aria was the light of his life, and he would often remark how
blessed he was to have her. He embraced every moment that he got to share with her. He loved playing
any random game that Aria would make up. He taught her of his love for board games. Chris loved the
simple things of just giving her a bath or tucking her into bed. Often, she would accompany Carissa as
they traveled for Chris’s work. He often remarked how he felt complete when accompanied by those
who loved him.
During Christopher’s long career in motion pictures he was blessed with opportunities that one could only
dream of. He truly loved his job, he met every challenge head on. He cared about the finish of his work,
from racing cars in the rain, to the sweltering heat and sands of a futuristic desert world, to the humidity
of the Hawaiian tropics. Working in far off lands, and exotic locales, but also in his own backyard of
Atlanta, GA on films and TV shows from the largest budgets to even a few small but meaningful ones.
Past Chris’s 3 children, some of his greatest accomplishments included Mad Max: Fury Road, Hell or High
Water and The Circle. Chris was a mentor and friend to many. He loved all of it, from the people that he
met every day, to every talented person that made it possible, he was blessed. Christopher’s life came to an end on Thursday, January 27, 2022. He is survived by his children Marissa,Nicholas, and Aria. Wife Carissa O’Hara. Ex-wife Cindy Davis. Parents Kenneth and Kathleen. Brother
and sister-in-law James and Christy O’Hara. He is also survived by in laws Donald and Charlene Cronk,
brother and sister in law Michael and Jessica Cronk, and brother in law Benjamin Cronk. Survived by several nieces and nephews, beloved Aunts and Uncles.

I didn´t know him but I have watched the films he worked on and I am saddened to learn about his passing. I am alive today because I had a liver transplant 16 years ago thanks to someone like Christopher Michael O´Hara who chose to donate his organs. You saved a lot of lives. R.I.P.

Gosh. I'm so sorry to hear about Chris. I worked with him years ago on a movie. He was a pleasure to work with and a hard worker. My deepest sympathy to all who loved him. I'm sure he will be missed by his family at home and at work.
