Christopher Eugene Padilla

La Luz - Christopher Eugene Padilla, 55, of Alamogordo, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025. He was born on February 11, 1970, in Alamogordo, where he spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the beauty of the outdoors he so loved.

Chris had a passion for cooking, fishing, and being outside-but above all, he cherished spending time with his family. He found his greatest joy in the simple moments: casting a line by the water, cooking up something delicious to share with his family, and laughing with those he loved most. His love for his wife, children, and grandchildren was endless and unwavering.

He was a devoted husband to his beautiful wife, Lori Padilla, a loving son to Kathryn Buchholz, and a caring brother to Michael Padilla and Tina Rigney. He is also survived by his children Manuel Padilla, Christopher Padilla, and Monique (Padilla)Hibler; eight cherished grandchildren who were the light of his life; and many dear friends who were lucky enough to know his kindness, humor, and generous spirit.

Chris was truly one of a kind-known for his quick wit, his big heart, and a sense of humor that could brighten any room. He was an amazing husband and father, but an even better grandfather, whose love and laughter will echo in his family's hearts forever.

The world won't be the same without him, but those who loved him take comfort knowing he's watching over them with that same warm smile and mischievous sparkle in his eye. We are forever grateful for the time we had with him and the love he shared so freely.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to honor and remember the incredible man Chris was.
