Jackie and Jaime,
We never really got to know you both, but we are deeply saddened to hear of Chris's passing. He was a wonderful person who served as my mentor very early in both of our lives. Chris was my boss at Va Tech when we were both starting our working careers. I never forgot his influence on my life. He may not have thought much of his influence, but it has had a lasting effect on my life. Chris was a great friend. Even though we have not seen him for many years, we miss him. Thank you so much for allowing me to make contact with him during his final struggle. Althought short, his words to me were profound and uplifting to hear. Chris was always that way; building others up. We feel an emptiness with his loss. From far away he is missed. Love Beth and Bill Copenhaver

Jackie, Jaime ...
We are thinking of you and of course Chris. We are sorry we will not be able to be with you this Wednesday. Chris will be missed and we will always remember him for his charm, sense of humor and intelligent conversation. What fun we had! We appreciated him and appreciate you so much. Love Mike and Maggie

Jackie and Jamie, I'm so glad to have called Chris a friend. He was a dedicated and caring co-worker and someone I knew I could talk to when things were stressful. He left a legacy at Golden and will be remembered for a long, long time.

This news hit me very hard. Met Chris when I first entered government service, at Fort Monroe, Va., 1977. He preceded me in our intern program by a year -- and proved to be not only a mentor but also a good and lasting friend. He helped a "newbie" keep perspective over what to sweat and what not to sweat. I have great memories of Orioles games at old Memorial Stadium, Irish Country Breakfasts in Old Town Alexandria, and the occasional attempt to mesh two very different styles of guitar playing. I wish there had been more "reunions," but treasure the memories of the ones we had. Jackie -- please accept my condolences and prayers.

Jackie and Jamie:
I'm thinking about you two non-stop now. I'm reflecting on how hard it is to lose someone you love, someone you've shared the last 20+ years with. It must be doubly hard to lose someone as sweet and fun as Chris.
He and I had wonderful times when we worked together at the INEL. He could crack you up with a look, and he was always ready for fun times.
I enjoyed him as a co-worker, enjoyed him as a neighbor, and most of all as a friend who could really understand my world. I'll miss him as an e-friend, and wish you two happier days. I know that one day your grief will dissolve into gratitude for all the good times you shared with Chris.

Jackie, I'm very very sorry about Chris. I was very fortunate to share few trips with Chris and getting to know him while on assignments. His sense of humor in the early mornings always helped us start the day with a smile. My prayers and thoughts to you and your family.

Oh gosh Jackie, I'm so sorry to hear this. Chris was such a good friend when we worked together in Idaho Falls. We traveled together on business, and I loved hearing about his life. I last saw Chris during a joint exercise at Fort St. Vrain, 11 or 12 years ago. Take good care of you.

Jackie and Jamie:

I have known Chris for a long time. We were neighbors for a while, co-workers, but most important friends. Chris was alway so kind to me when he worked for me, making sure presentations were perfect, that I did not have to worry about "getting there", and was always in the wings to make sure if I needed anything he would tend to it. We all have lost a wonderful person. So sorry I can't make the Celebration of Life, but you will be in my prayers. If there is anything I can do, please call or email.
