Christopher Scerbo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 20, 2023.
Christopher Scerbo, 42, of Carteret, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, June 11th, 2023. Chris had a larger-than-life personality, a one of a kind laugh and ability to make you feel important in his presence. He lit up any room he was in and never missed an opportunity to attend barbecues or holidays with his extended family and friends. Chris loved spending time with his family. He loved going to his mother's house to watch the latest Netflix series and making his sister Jessica join them in watching Rocky for the millionth time. Chris swore Rocky was the greatest movie ever made. Much like his movie idol, Chris had always fought to be the best version of himself. Chris lived with his father for many years. Even though he has eventually moved out on his own, Christopher would still make time to visit as often as he could and always looked forward to Anthony's venison parmesan and other "creative" dishes. Chris was proud of his job, loved working out and eating (lots) of great food. Chris will be sorely missed by everyone who knew him.
Chris is predeceased by his grandparents Raymond and Elisa Scerbo as well as his grandmother Theresa DiLeo. He is survived by his Mother, Donna Scerbo, Father, Anthony Scerbo and his wife, Carol Scerbo, Sister, Jessica Scerbo and her partner, Kourtney Brodniak, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
A memorial service will be had at St. Anthony of Padua Church in Port Reading on July 1st at 9:30 AM. In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that a donation be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to Synowiecki Funeral Home, 56 Carteret Ave., Carteret, NJ.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow. What can I say Chris , my husband Rich loved you like a brother . We had a few good times . The thing is everyone thinks we can make time later but the truth is we have to live in the moment. I never got to cook for you again. You will be deeply missed. R.I.P. until we meet again.

Chris (I only called him Scerbo) was one of my husbands good friends growing up in NJ. He was also the first friend of his that I met in person when he drove Keith from NJ to Michigan for the weekend. His larger than life presence and his big laugh made him someone everyone wanted to be around. He not only accepted me as "his friends girlfriend" but also became a friend of mine. After Keith moved to Michigan it was harder to see each other and keep in touch as we were all starting our lives and going in different directions but Scerbo would always check in with us. I´m going to miss him and his check ins

Jamie is correct in saying you had a larger than life personality. Always looked forward to seeing you at Family events and missed you when you weren´t there. You were kind, considerate and loving to all who knew you, at least that was our experience. You will be greatly missed.
