As a distant relative, whose memories of Chris are from the early 50s, it is painful to know that he has passed...His visit to Virginia remains very much alive in memory, and I have often thought of it...there is much love, affection and respect in the growing list of guest book comments and those sentiments are felt here as well...I wish to have known him better!

Our sympathies to all the family and friends...

People come into our lives for a reason. We shared awesome memories of fishing, back yard BBQ`s and fun Sorrento card games. But we especially appreciated you for what you did for Kim. Allowing her to experience the joy of having a father. Our Condolences go out to all your family. Where ever you are we hope the wind is blowing in your hair the birds are singing and the fish are biting. God speed.

Willy willy willy, man I miss you. I dont even know what the hell to write here. You were like a brother, we argued, we anoyed the piss out of each other, and yet EVERY day that ended we were friends. I drove to your house last night just to sit and think about you. and here I thought I was done with the crying. Anyways Will , Your memory lives with me for all of my days. I miss you. James

Chris and I have been friends since we first met at the University of Guelph in 1969, 39 years ago. One has very few “true” friends in life and I am proud to say that Chris was truly my best friend. Many fond memories from our times as University students; very interesting discussions with Chris, his dad and his brothers; fishing when he visited in Boston; BC visits from the trailer park in Vancouver, to the time Deirdre and I visited in Nanaimo, to the latest visit that Charlene and I had with Chris in Sechelt. I am pleased that Chris and I talked as recently as a week ago last Wednesday. We also had a lot of space in our togetherness over the years, but loved and respected each other greatly. Over the years, and especially the last few, there have been some trying times for all of us, times when our friendship has meant even more to both of us. I appreciate the support he gave both me and my family. We will all miss him in our lives.

I am happy to say Chris was my personal friend for more than thirty years. He will be missed and always remembered. One of the most unconventional personalities in my life - I cherished Chris's special view of the work and his loyalty to all things basic. I am glad to have shared this world with him. Please add my prayers to yours for his safe keeping.

They say you can pick your friends but you can't pick your family...well for Chris and I that was not true. We chose each other, and I would not have picked anyone else to be my dad.

The lessons he taught me will stay with me for the rest of my life, as will the memories of his laughter and that deep, warm smile. I will always be thankful for everything he gave, which he did often and selflessly. But mostly I am greatful for the talks we had and the strong embrace of a loving father.

So thank you, Chris. Thanks for letting me know the love of a father, and for being a friend. I will miss you terribly, but remember you always.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Chris's family. Chris was a very close friend of ours (James and myself), and worked closely alongside James. He spent many special celebrations in our home, and we always shared a good laugh. Chris was a master craftsman, gifted and a kindhearted soul. I am glad for the last time we were together, the fun we had, and how I made you laugh, and how you made me laugh. Willy will always have a special place in my heart. You will not be forgotten, but missed greatly.
