Christopher Ward Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 30, 2022.
The Ward and Underwood families are heartbroken to announce the death of Christopher Lee Ward on 16 December 2022, age 51, of Navarre, Florida, and formerly of Stafford County, Virginia.

Chris was born in September, 1971, to George Ward, Jr. and Linda Ward (Underwood) in Alexandria, Virginia.

Chris was predeceased by his father George Ward, Jr., grandmother Christine Ward, grandfather George Ward, Sr., grandmother Margaret Brewton, nephew Ryan Giglio, uncle Charles Schuster, aunt Dee Denton, uncle Richard Scott, aunt Connie Scott, uncle Danny Ward, cousin Richard "Richie" Scott, Jr., and cousin Steven Craig.

He is survived by his son Dylan Ward, 18; daughter Skylar Ward, 16; stepfather and mother, Gene and Linda Underwood; brother, George "Trip" Ward III and his wife Michele Ward and their children RJ and Rebecca; cousin, Christina Scott; brother, Paul Caouette and his wife Debi and their children Parker and Cooper; stepmother Peggy Pope and her husband, Doug Pope; stepbrothers Mike, Mark and Daniel Hine, and Shawn Underwood and their families; aunt, Sharon Schuster; long-time girlfriend, Sheila Anderson; former spouse and mother of his children, Dawn Ward; brother from another mother, Donnie Wilhelm; and numerous other family members and close friends.

Chris was a devoted and loving son, father, brother, cousin, friend, and unwavering Redskins fan. He liked nothing better than spending a Sunday afternoon firing up the smoker for a game day party with friends. He looked forward to every Thursday Boys Night with brothers Trip, Paul and Donnie.

His children, Dylan and Skylar were his life. From soccer to basketball and cheer, he did everything he could to make sure they had the best life any two children could have. He was so very proud of them.

Chris was a dedicated and hard worker. He worked as a Loan Officer most recently with Movement Mortgage. He was always working to make his clients happy and did everything he could to make dreams come true.

Services will be held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church (161 Embrey Mill Road, Stafford, VA) on 14 January, 2023 at 2pm with a dessert reception following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to https://hhmin.org/charities/christopher-ward-family-memorial-fund to help the family with current expenses. Guests attending the service are encouraged to wear Redskins apparel or your favorite sports teams jersey. We all know Chris loved his sports!

If you are feeling unwell on the day of the service, have been in contact with a person who has been diagnosed with COVID in the last seven days, or you yourself have tested positive in the last seven days, for the protection of others, are asked not to attend.

I was shocked to hear of Chris' passing. We were speaking of him just last evening. My brother-in-law is looking to purchase his first home, and we were giving him several pointers. One of these was to find a loan officer he feels comfortable with. This is how Chris made me and my fiancé feel throughout the entire process of our first home purchase. He was kind, patient, and understanding. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family and loved ones.

Chris was such a great guy! He, and his Movement Mortgage team, helped me re-fi my house. I am deeply saddened by this news. Prayers to his family.
