Christopher H. Wollenberg III

Christopher H. Wollenberg, III, 55, of Manchester, beloved husband of Faye (Martin) Wollenberg and loving father to Christopher Wollenberg, IV and Kevin Wollenberg, both of Manchester, died Wednesday, (July 11, 2001) at Manchester Memorial Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Hartford, July 27, 1945, son of Patricia (Dublac) Wollenberg of Manchester and the late Christopher H. Wollenberg Jr., he was raised in Manchester, and graduated from Manchester High School. He and his family resided in Florida for many years before returning to Manchester 15 years ago. Chris was employed by the OFS Corporation in South Windsor, and was a parishioner of St. Bridget Church in Manchester. He was a devoted Yankees fan and enjoyed NASCAR racing and listening to jazz and blues music. Some of his fondest memories were of trips to New Orleans, LA, Talladega Race Track, and the gatherings with his family. Besides his wife, sons and mother, he is survived by two sisters, Petrina Kleinschmidt and her husband, Michael of Marlborough, and Susan Hayes and her companion, Donald McLaughlin of Manchester; five brothers, David Wollenberg and his companion, Nancy Dow of Rhode Island, Robin Wollenberg and his wife, Regina of Bellingham, WA, Jonathan Wollenberg and his wife, Sally of Manchester, Timothy Wollenberg and his wife, Brenda of Bolton, and Kenneth Wollenberg and his wife, Yvette of Rhode Island. Chris also leaves 11 nieces; 14 nephews; and eight grandnieces and grandnephews. A memorial Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, July 17, 11:3O a.m., in St. Bridget Church, 80 Main Street, Manchester. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the John A. DeQuattro Community Cancer Center, 91 Haynes Street, Manchester, CT 06040. The Holmes Funeral Home, 400 Main Street, Manchester, has care of arrangements.
