22. "Schmee" was so many things to so many people which words do not have the power to express. The person we remember today was a son, a brother, and a loving father. Chris had a huge heart and the ability to care for his family and others that was unmatched, and he was the kind of father that we all wish we could have. He has taught us all so many things in the short time we have had with him. Chris, we love you more than anything in this world and you will be missed and never forgotten. Christopher is survived by his daughter Talya, birth father Richard E. Schmittel, Sr., adopted father Russell E. Yates, mother Gina Teresi, brother Rich, sisters Lori and Britni, and extended family members who love and miss him very much. In lieu of flowers, donations to may be made to Talya Hope Schempf, minor, in care of Richard E. Schmittel, Jr. for Talya's college fund. Memorial services to celebrate Chris' life will be held Friday, December 17, at 10:00 am at Aspen Mortuary, 6370 Union St., Arvada, CO.
