We lost our dear Christy Windle on December 27th, 2022, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 42. Christy was born on January 10, 1980, in Denton, Texas, to parents Robert (Bobby) Windle III and Kathryn Parker.
Christy was known by all for her love of music, art, gardening, animals, and her family and friends. She was a proud granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, niece and cousin. She treasured good friendships and spending time with those dear to her. She loved attending concerts and finding unknown artists. And most of all she greatly loved cats and had many as pets throughout her life. Christy was a true servant who enjoyed helping meet the needs of others, whether it was getting a house ready for Christmas, planting and cultivating a garden, or simply doing the dishes after a large family meal. With grieving hearts we mourn her loss but also cling to the hope that she is home and resting safely in the arms of our Heavenly Father.
As we seek to honor her name, we also recognize the difficult reality that hindered her life. Christy loved Jesus and professed Him as her Savior (Romans 10:9), but her many, beautiful, God given characteristics were often clouded by addiction. Where there is addiction, tragedy often follows yet it is God who holds the victory in life and in death. (1 Corinthians 15:54-57)
Christy will be remembered and cherished by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her mother, Kathy Parker; stepfather, Nat Parker; father, Bobby Windle; stepmother, Gail Windle; brother, Brad Windle and family; stepbrother, Tan Parker and family; stepbrother, Shawn Parker and family; stepsister, Nicolle Ohman and family; stepbrother, Ryan Parker and family; stepbrother, Michael Masterson; stepbrother, Andrew Masterson; stepbrother, Thomas Masterson; grandmothers, Joan Millerborg and Nina Windle; and many more loved and dear extended family; aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces, as well as friends who are considered family.
A memorial service will be held at Denton Bible Church: The Chapel, on Friday, January 13, 2023, at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Parents of Addicted Loved Ones | Support Group for Parents, Spouses, Family of Addicted Loved One (palgroup.org)
Psalm 18:1-2 I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
