Cindy Lou Leverich (Montague), aged 63, passed away on September 9, 2024, in Vicksburg, Michigan. Born on December 30, 1960, in Barstow, California, Cindy was a beacon of kindness and generosity, known for her unwavering devotion to her faith, family, and friends.

Cindy graduated from Vicksburg High School and furthered her education at Baker College, where she nurtured her lifelong love of learning and community service. A proud veteran, Cindy served in the Air Force, where she embraced the core values of integrity, service, and excellence. Cindy's professional life was dedicated to the most challenging and rewarding of roles-that of a mother, not only to her biological children but also to many who found in her a guiding light.

An active member of Grace Community Church, Cindy's faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and interactions. She was deeply involved in church activities, always eager to extend her warmth and support to the church community.

Cindy's zest for life was evident in her love for the outdoors. She cherished moments spent camping, kayaking, and tending to her garden. An avid baker, Cindy delighted family and friends with her culinary creations, especially during the holidays. Her artistic flair shone through in her jewelry and making crafts, and she could often be found uncovering treasures at local thrift stores, always with an eye for a good deal.

She is survived by her husband, Leland; siblings, Catherine, Darryl Jr., and Dan; children, Sabrina, Neil, Chad, and many bonus children; and grandchildren, Isabella, Emily, and Sadie. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Darryl and Elaine, and her grandson, Cody.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on Sunday, September 22, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Grace Community Church, located at 403 S Kalamazoo Ave, Vicksburg, Michigan. The service will be followed by a funeral repast, where friends and family can share memories and celebrate Cindy's remarkable life.

Cindy Leverich's legacy of love, laughter, and selflessness will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Her life was a testament to the beauty of a life well-lived, filled with passion, kindness, and an unshakeable faith.

I am so sad to just be reading this. I would have loved to attend and pay my respects. Cathy I am so sorry. I remember growing up with Cindy as her sister was my best friend in school. She was kind and funny. She will be blessed in heaven now. RIP Cindy.

Cindy was another who believed a stranger was just a friend she hadn't met yet. She had the biggest heart for the community and the church, many years she was the glue that kept the church together. My sweet sister in Ministry, she was like my big sister as well. She was truly selfless, and quick to help anyone and everyone. I will forever cherish the time and love she had for me and my family, grateful God had blessed me with the time we shared, and look forward to the day we will meet again in heaven.

I first met Cindy through a shared love for jewelry when we were both selling Paparazzi! She soon became a great friend. We shared many great times, lunches, conversations about God and much more. We lost touch when I got really sick but there was never a day I didn´t think about her. I was able to get in touch with Cindy again after receiving the news of her diagnosis. I told her how much I loved her and appreciated her friendship over the years. I told her I would continue to pray for her and her family. Cindy remained so strong in her Faith through it all. She had a heart of gold and will be missed by so many! Rest in peace my beautiful friend!

Candice and I served Grace Community Assembly of God Church as pastors several years ago. Cindy was our go-to person on many things. She always had an infectious smile and a love and devotion for our savior Jesus Christ. So today, Cindy is experiencing a promise that Jesus made to Cindy and every believer--He said he is preparing a place for us, that where I am, there you may be also. Cindy just got there before us! Her #1 wish now is that those she loved will commit their faith to Him and join her in that promised place where there will be no more pain, sorrow, sickness, death.

Cindy and I went for many walks and a lot of lunches at Los Amigos ( I´m pretty sure her favorite food was Mexican) we also did some thrift shopping.

Cindy always listened. She never just heard what you were saying but listened. She gave me some words of encouragement many times when I would get all crazy about what´s going on in my life. Anytime I ever had a problem she was always the first to ask how she could help. Cindy was selfless and very giving. I will miss her everyday until we meet again god willing.

I had many favorite memories of my dear friend. One of my favorites was meeting her at a church that was holding a huge garage sale. Her and I were there for a few hours and then she went back the next day to do more shopping and bought me a gorgeous green glass dish set I had my eye on. We had many laughs together and I´m going to miss that dearly.

My first memory of Cindy was when we met through a mutual friend and it was then I learned she was also a friend from high schools mother.

I learned from Cindy to be a better human and to listen to others vs just hearing them.
