Amie "Mary" Sauer, 81, of Huntsville, born in Kaplan, Louisiana, passed away on Friday, September 20, at her home. Mary was a dedicated wife, mother, and a dear friend to many. She was preceded in death by her husband William "Bill" Sauer, infant daughter Cherie, brother Jules, sister Irene, and parents Clay Boullion and Eleanor Peyers.
Survivors include her children, Rick (Mary), Ron (fiancé Gabrielle), John (Cari), Don (Vickie), Cheryl (Harry), Carol (Jerry) and James; sisters, Grace and Nellie; brothers, Louis and Paul; grandchildren, Scott, Ceacila, Nikki, Rusty, Matthew, Nicole, Joey, Layla, Amie, Lauren and Andrew; and great grandchildren, Joshua, Frankie, Brycen, Caylie, Miles and Morgan; and her beloved dog, Zoie, the only thing she loved more than fried shrimp.
In addition to being a loving and supportive parent to her family she was involved in numerous activities with friends and the community including Somerset Loose Ladies, Catholic Widows and Widowers, Good Timers, Valley Girls, Alumni Crestwood Gift Shop, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary 4080 as well as bowling, bridge, canasta, dominos, and bunko clubs. She travelled throughout the U.S. and to overseas locations, always enjoying the opportunity to broaden her experiences and her cheerful goodwill. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. Service will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Good Shepherd Building Fund.
