Ms. Patterson was my reading teacher, but she had a profound influence on the trajectory of my life because of her love and advocacy. She is STILL in my top 3 most influential people in my life. Because of her, I continued my studies in French, I became a teacher, and I passed along that love for students that she demonstrated every day! I’m now an English Learner Instructional Lead and I reflect on how I can build better relationships with students, teachers, and their families bc of Ms. Patterson. That is her biggest legacy to me.

To say that Cindy was an extraordinary person is an understatement. Her kindness and especially her interest in other people was as beautiful as her smile. A light has gone out here on earth but the brightest star in heaven is Cindy, lighting the way to God ,just as she did on earth.

Ms. Patterson was a wonderful teacher and person; we all know. She was the first person to tell me that I was special and beautiful. That meant the world to a 7th grader who wasn't that sure of herself! She made a difference in my life. I will miss her.
