Cindy Taylor Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 18, 2025.
Cynthia "Cindy" Decker Taylor passed away on September 6th, 2025, at home with her family. Cindy dedicated many years of her life to teaching preschool and was beloved by countless families. While her later years held many health challenges, Cindy found great joy and purpose in being a Grammy to her grandchildren, Audrey, Abby, and William. No holiday, or event went uncelebrated or unrecognized. Cindy reminded us that in life the little things are indeed the most important things. She deeply loved her children and family. We are forever grateful for this reminder of love.

Born November 3, 1954, to Margaret (Purvis) and Capt. Lloyd Decker in Jacksonville, Fl. Cindy spent her childhood in Florida, it is where she always felt at home. She grew up attending the Methodist Church. Cindy looked forward to the hottest days of the year in Oregon, and when she would return to Florida it was always to "thaw out" from the cold Oregon winters. Cindy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dan & Gloria Decker, 6 nieces & nephews & their families, and by her son, and daughter (son-in-law), Jon Gordon, and Ashley & PJ Carlson, and grandchildren. Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Kenneth "Bo" and William "Bill" Decker, Sister-in-law Marcia "Joanne" Decker and sister Brenda Decker. At Cindy's request no service will be held in Oregon, her family will gather in Florida at a later date. In Cindy's honor we invite you to pause in this busy life and share your love with your friends & family. As Cindy would say, in true preschool teacher spirit, "slow down", "get down on their level, listen to them, and hear what they are saying". Ms. Cindy, Grammy, Mom, Aunt, Sister, and Friend, we already miss you so very much. We will continue to love you, and carry you in our hearts forever, "There's no place like home".
