Clair L. 'Pottsie' King, age 70, of Greenwich died Tuesday, at his residence following a lingering illness. He was born January 9, 1938 to the late Darwin R. and M. Charlene (Watson) King, and was a lifelong resident of Greenwich. Clair was a 1956 graduate of Greenwich High School. Clair owned and operated Kings plumbing and heating, and was a contractor and had built numerous homes in the Greenwich area. Clair had been a volunteer for the Tri Community Joint Fire District Department for many years and a past member of the Chamber of Commerce. He is survived by 2 daughters, Lesley King, a special family friend Suzy McKinney, Cheryl (David) Young all of Norwalk, a son, David (Anita) King of Crestview, Florida; 3 grandchildren, James Brian (Lesley) King, of Crestview, Florida, Jennifer Young and Lance Young both of Norwalk, Ohio, a brother, Burhl King of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; 2 sisters, Ruth King and Dora Winter both of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He was preceded in death by his wife Suzanne J. King in March of 1999. A graveside service for the interment of Clair and Suzanne will take place 11 am Friday, May 2, at the North Fairfield Cemetery. The family will then receive friends from Noon until the 1 pm memorial service at the Greenwich United Methodist Church, 18 E. Main Street, Greenwich. Rev Clark Hogue and Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to, Tri Community Joint Fire Department, 49 Main St., Greenwich, Ohio 44837 or Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870. Eastman Funeral Home, Greenwich, were in charge of arrangements.
