ELDER, Claire (King)
Claire Elder (King) passed away peacefully on November 5, 2014 at West Island Palliative Care Residence. Predeceased by her husband William Elder, grandson Matthew Buchanan (Krista) and her sister Eileen Maguire. Loving and devoted mother to Joan (Greg Hoskins) and Deborah (Gordon Buchanan). Cherished Grandma of Alexandra and Daniel, John (Emily) and Heather. Dear Great-Grandma to Charlie. Also survived by her sister and best friend Phillipa Thorley. She will be missed greatly by the many friends she gathered during her long lifetime. An animal lover, she adopted many stray cats, giving comfort and shelter for those in need. The family will receive condolences at JJ Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Bord du Lac, Dorval, on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at 1:30 o'clock followed by the Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider donations in Claire's memory to Shangri-La Animal Shelter, 1777 rang 8, Saint-Antoine- Abbé, Québec J0S 1N0, or to the West Island Palliative Care Residence Foundation, 265,rue Andre-Brunet, Kirkland, Quebec H9H 3R4. The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to the caregivers of Residence Legault and the West Island Palliative Care Residence who looked after Claire with kindness and compassion.

Our deepest sympathies to Joan and Debbie and your families. Both Lynne and I have so many fond memories of your mom and of our two families as we were growing up. I would like to think that Claire and Bill and Bunny and Alf are somewhere having a drink together. May they all rest in peace.
