2 Timothy 4:7-9 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. Do thy diligence to come shortly unto me: Bishop Clara Moore Albritton, daughter of the late Clara Bell Moore and George Peterson Sr., was born September 21, 1944 in Washington, North Carolina. She departed life on January 12, 2021 at Vidant Medical Center. Clara was raised in Washington NC where she attended and graduated from PS Jones School. As a child she attended Davis Chapel church where she was a faithful member. She also attended Sutton Tabernacle, and Chocowinity United Methodist Church at different times in her life. Wherever she went, she left lasting memories and imparted the spirit of God into all that she came into contact with. Clara worked for many years as an industrial worker for both Hamilton Beach and National Spinning Companies. She then became a devoted housewife and mother. Louis and Clara were married 57 years before she was called home to be with the Lord. After raising her own kids to be strong and independent adults, she often took on the roll of nanny, babysitting her grandkids. She helped raise her grandson David, who lived in the home with them, as if he were her own from the day he was born. Clara has always been a devout Christian and soldier in the Lord's army. She was an Evangelist for many, many years. In 2004 she became Pastor of Your Day of Deliverance Church, now located in Chocowinity NC. Her devoted members meant so much to her, they were all extended family. Clara had a great love for people, and anyone who knew her could tell you, she never ever met a stranger. Whether it was lending a helping hand, giving a ride, a smile or encouraging word, taking a crying child into her arms and telling them to "hush that fuss", or cooking a pot of collards, her presence was always felt wherever she went. Her life was one that modeled Christ and it will always speak for itself. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son David Maurice Albritton, and two brothers Lucky Warren and Reginald Peterson. She's leaves behind to cherish her memories six children: Madeline Denise Moore of Washington NC, Louis Taylor Albritton Jr. (Monique) of Chocowinity NC, Alan Donell Albritton (Latoya) of Greenville NC, Milton Paul Albritton of Washington NC, Melissa Faith Albritton of Washington NC, and Hope Ann Albritton of Grimesland NC; grandchildren: Dontavis Albritton, Tonisha Albritton, Tayana Albritton, Amajha St. Clair, Jamel Simmons, Christopher Albritton, Christopher Ellerbe, Myera Jackson Rakylah Barrow, Alana Albritton, Aaliyah Albritton, Ally Albritton, DaShaun Purvis, Joshua Langley, Milton Albritton Jr., Gabrielle Albritton, and David Albritton; several great-grandchildren: three sisters: Ola Lilley (Rodney) of Washington NC, Ruthel Royster of Chocowinity NC, and Marie Leggett (Sam) of Washington NC; six brothers: George Peterson Jr., Tony Clark, Malachi Clark, Eric Smallwood, Neil Clark, and Robert Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, children in Lord, and friends. You left me, I cried until I heard you say to me so many times, don't cry when I'm gone, cause when God is ready for me, I'm going with Him! It was for a moment I thought to myself, my buddy, my friend, my cut-up partner, my good time gurl, my love, has gone and left me. I began to think about our last visit, how we laughed until we both were crying. Come to think of it, we always laughed until we cried. I felt so good being around you. I told you many times that I love you and I was so glad that you are a part of my life. You and Louis have really been good to a lot of people, including me and my kids. I'm glad that I told you so many times that you are a special woman. I can see you looking at me and saying, honey, you better tell me now, cause you might not be able to tell me tomorrow. Well, tomorrow came too soon. I'm gonna miss you for a long, long time. I'm gonna say it again, thank you for crossing my path. It's not easy writing this, but I couldn't put it off any longer. It's nothing new, you've heard me say many times. I love you Clara always!

Clara and Louis were wonderful people. I enjoyed fellowship with both of them at CUMC. I'll never forget her smile, and to be around her, you felt the presence of God. She will always hold a place in my heart and mind.

We will miss Pastor Albritton! It is hard to believe that I just saw her on December 23rd, 2020. I would have never in my wildest dreams thought that this would be the last time I would see her. Every since I was a child, living in Chocowinity, Pastor Albritton has been nothing but a woman of God. Her faith has always been strong. She lived the life that she preached about. So to the family, our hearts hurt with you, but I know that she was living this life to life again! Our communities have suffered a great loss. She will forever be missed.

Pastor Albritton was a amazing Women of God. She has been in my life every since I was a child. She was the most giving and kind person I know. I loved her like a mother, when I needed to talk to someone she let me share my most darkest secrets with her and she never judge me. She just gave me scriptures and prayed with me. She will forever be miss. Latonia Blount ....she knows me as Tonka one of them Dennis kids.
