Clara Liddell

OTTUMWA — Clara Elizabeth Liddell, 92, of 1335 N. Elm, died at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 24, 2009, at Vista Woods Care Center.She was born April 20, 1916, in Laredo, Mo. to Clifford and Josephine Carpenter. She married Francis Liddell Aug. 2, 1949, at St. Ambrose Cathedral in Des Moines.She had been a resident of Des Moines for 78 years and had lived in Ottumwa for the past 10 years. She was a member of St. Mary of the Visitation and the Altar and Rosary Society. She was a former member of St. Theresa’s Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society in Des Moines. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.Surviving is her husband, Francis; a daughter, Michele (Mitchel) Cooper of Ottumwa; two grandchildren, Laura Cooper of Des Moines and Ryan Cooper of Ottumwa.Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary of the Visitation with Father Bernie Weir presiding. Graveside service and burial will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines.Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home with the family present from 6-8 p.m. Friday.A memorial has been established to Hospice, 312 E.
