Francis and Michele- I was your next door neighbor on Merle Hay in Des Moines. My parents were Joe and Lyvonne Di Maria. My mother informed me of Clara's passing and i wanted to extend my sympathy. She was a lovely lady- always nice to my sisters and I. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

My aunt included me and gave me experiences as a child that I will take with me always. Her kindness was pure and from the heart. It warmed me every time she called me De-Neecee, even as an adult when most people feel they have outgrown their childhood names. We ate at Younkers Tea Room downtown in gloves and patten leather shoes with ruffles and petticoats, shopped at Merle Hay Mall, visited Washington DC, many a movie at the Ingersol and Varsity Theaters, joint graduation with Michele at their home, just to name a few. She let us stay up 'til we just couldn't any longer after giggling ourselves to sleep. She would make a different breakfast for Fran, Michele and me if that's what we wanted. She made it special.
