Clara Mirra Obituary
Clara (Mancini) Mirra, 82, of Endicott, passed away at her residence Friday May 6, 2016, surrounded by her devoted family. She was predeceased by her parents Angelo and Italia Mancini and brothers Anthony (Erma) and Ralph Mancini. She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years Joe; her three children Carmine J Mirra and Joseph Mirra, both of Endicott and Michelle (Michellea) Carmella Mirra, Stroudsburg, PA; three grandchildren Breanna (Travis) Preble, Patterson Creek CA; Daniel Mirra and Michael Miserendino; two great grandchildren Sofia and Kassius Preble; sister-in law Luijina Lenzo; Jeanette Gable; nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. She was full of life and her family was her entire world. Her love for people especially children and animals amplified in her personality. An Italian immigrant she came to America in 1956 through Ellis Island, from Anagni, Italy, an ancient town in the South East of Rome, where she grew up and lived until she was 21. She was married in 1957. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time at her summer camp at Cayuga Lake with all her family around her and her fishing pole. She was labeled the greatest fisherman of all times. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 6 pm at St. Joseph's Church, 207 Hayes Avenue, Endicott, (Due to the renovation of St. Anthony of Padua Church). Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at church Monday from 4 pm until Mass time at 6 pm.

Mrs. Mirra will always be a part of what I loved about growing up on Prescott Ave. I am so sorry to hear that she has passed. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Mirra Family. She will always be remembered.

So sorry for your loss. The Mirras are a big part of the family and Clara will be greatly missed. She is now in the Lord's hands and is back to being the person she used to be. We will all be together some day and until then, she will remain in our hearts. I love you all.

To the Mirra family, I'm so sorry for your loss. My memory of Clara is that she just exuded joy and laughter no matter where she was and who she was with. What a tremendous personality and I just loved being in her company when I still lived at home and seeing her at times when I would return home to visit my family. I miss her. I have so many fond memories from my childhood involving the Mirra family. I am honored to have those memories and will cherish them always. Clara loved everyone and everything with her whole-heart.
