She is also survived by her sister, Jane Barnette Hancock, cousin Dorothy C. Barnette, sisters-in-law Pamela Watts Rudnicki and Paula E. Watts, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Jack Priest.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband, Judge France W. Watts; second husband, RH Driftmier, Jr; parents, Judge Chris T & Emily Sue C Barnette; and sister, Ruth Pierce Sholar.

A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, on Saturday, April 20, 2024. A reception will begin at 10am followed by the service at 11am. The graveside service and burial will take place at Ellis Cemetery in Franklinton, Louisiana, at 3:30 pm.

I met with Mrs. Sue as my neighbor. She was such a gracious and kind lady who always made me feel like a part of this community. We had a lot in common that we could talk about. It was a privilege to know her and I am so sorry for your loss and my condolences to her beautiful family. Dilsad Meraler

I met Sue and Rudy, with my late husband Larry, on a cruise many years ago when they were on their honeymoon.
She was a vivacious and fun loving lady. We had a wonderful holiday. It was also my pleasure to take them and their son on a car trip around London when they came to the UK.
My sincere condolences to all the family.

I first met Sue when Chris and Melanie were engaged to be married. We had dinner at their home in Franklinton. Learned she was an awesome cook but more important Sue had a wonderful personality , kind , loving , and a joy to be around. Sue you are leaving the duty of flower girls for our future granddaughter´s wedding but I promise I will do my best and make you proud . Love you and will miss you .
