Clarence Gentz

Clarence Robert Gentz, 94 of Rockford died August 10, 2014. Clarence was born May 5, 1920 to Herman and Wilhelmina (Sardison) Gentz in Peoria, and granduated from Prophetstown High School in 1938. On December 2, 1944, he married Dorothy Donaldson (deceased 05/19/2001) in Chicago. On July 3, 2002, Clarence and Charlotte Carlson were married in Stillman Valley.

In 1955 Clarence, Dorothy, and family moved to Morrison, and then to Rockford in 1963. Clarence worked for 20 years managing the Stillman Valley Grain and Feed Elevator.

Surviving family members are his wife, Charlotte; four children, Linda Wekenmann, Jim (Cathy) Gentz, Becky (Jerry) Aarestad, and Will (Marylin) Gentz; ten grandchildren, eight great-granchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bernice Brown; sister-in-law, Beulah Gentz; and many nieces and nephews.

Clarence is predeceased by his first wife, parents, and eight siblings.

The family wishes to express special appreciation for the loving care Clarence received from the staff at Wesley Willows and Serenity Hospice.
