Clarence Jones

Clarence "CB" Jones, Jr., age 82, passed away on July 7, 2025, at St. Mary's Hospital in Chicago, Illinois. Born on December 25, 1942, in Wyatte, Mississippi, CB lived a full and hardworking life. He loved spending time cooking while jamming out to his favorite tunes and spending hours outside working on his yard.

CB spent many years working at Horizon Metals and later poured his energy into Jones Landscaping. Whether he was shaping metal or shaping lawns, he approached every task with diligence and pride. He was known for his tireless work ethic and could often be found outside tending to his yard or tinkering with his beloved truck-two of his greatest passions.

He had a sharp wit and a gift for storytelling that made him the center of attention wherever he went. His jokes and tales were legendary among those who knew him, bringing laughter and warmth to countless gatherings. Even in difficult times, CB's humor never wavered; he fought until the end with strength and spirit.

CB is lovingly remembered by his daughter Megan Jones; sons Michael Untiedt-Jones and Matthew Johnson; nephew Michael Jones; and twelve grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mattie Jones; sister Jennette Smith; and former wife Beverly Untiedt.

He is no longer in pain and has been reunited with his best friend. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Gathering will be held on July 31, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 02:00 PM at Bormann Funeral Home 1600 Chicago Avenue, Melrose Park, IL.
