Clarence Messing Obituary
Visitation is one hour before services Wednesday at the funeral home.
He died Friday, April 25, 2003, at Rosewood Care Center, Moline.
He owned and operated Messing Concrete Products from 1948, first in Moline and then in Coal Valley, retiring in 1983. He worked in the shops for John Deere when he first moved to Illinois in the 1930s.
He was born Aug. 24, 1913, in Shelby, Neb. He married Mary Esther Couri in 1940 in East Moline.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1943 and in 1945 was a private in the Auxilary Military Police, U.S. Army.
Survivors include a sister, Agatha Sedam, Milan; brothers, Richard Messing and Benedict Messing, both of Shelby, Neb., Martin Messing, Edmonda, Wash.,Rev. Francis Messing, Grove Hill, Ala.
