Clarence Sims, Jr.

Clarence Sims, Jr., 82 of Lecanto, Florida passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2012. He was born in Lancaster, Kentucky on Tuesday, January 7, 1930 to Clarence and Lilly (York) Sims, Sr. Clarence was a retired heating and air conditioning technician and moved to this area in the early 1990's from Arkansas. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of the Kentucky National Guard. He enjoyed fishing, traveling and playing pool.

Clarence was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Sims and his brothers, Estell and Ralph Lay.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry Sims and wife Robin of Oakwood, Illinois, Ron Sims and wife Vanessa of Tilton, Illinois and Clarence Lee Sims and wife Terri of Lecanto, Florida; daughters, Joanna Bridgeman and husband Val of Liberty, Kentucky and Brenda Miller and husband Harry of Hustonville, Kentucky; brothers, John Lay and wife Louada of Danville, Illinois, Cecil Lay of Burgin, Kentucky and Jessie Sims and wife Irenne of St. Petersburg, Florida; sister, Doris West and husband Howard of Burgin, Kentucy; eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation, Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Interment with Military Honors on Friday, March 11, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. at Fountains Memorial Park.
